Geordie Chasers

A gang of 10 men who groomed, raped, and sexually abused teenage girls in Bolton between 2016 and 2018 have been sentenced to a total of 88 years in prison.

The men, aged between 17 and 29 at the time of the offenses, targeted girls aged 13 to 15, often meeting them near a community center where teenagers would socialize.

The abuse frequently occurred at a house described by Judge Simon Medland KC as a “lawless den of iniquity.”

The gang members plied some of the victims with alcohol and drugs and sent indecent images.

One victim stated in her impact statement that she “suffered every form of abuse from each of these individuals, and they continue to haunt me every day.”

She added, “I live in my own prison now and that is what they have done to me.”

Ringleader Ashley Darbyshire, 28, had already been sentenced.

On Tuesday, the remaining six gang members received their sentences, including Jack Poulson, 32, who was jailed for 17 years for multiple sexual offenses.

Detective Constable Robert Booth of Greater Manchester Police stated that the men treated their victims as “worthless” and expressed hope that the sentences would offer some comfort and a sense of justice to the victims.
