What we do
Geordie chasers was founded October 2017 in the north east initially as a one man operation however soon grew to the members we have today.
Our aim is to catch sex offenders who lurk online trying to groom children and get them to meet up for sex or sexual activities.
The way we do this is by setting up online accounts and profiles, we then leave them untouched and wait to see who approaches. When we are approached we will tell them very early on (within the first few messages) how old the child is hoping the other person has no more contact, unfortunately this happens less than you would think or like.. We then allow the predator to lead the conversation which more often than not turns sexual, a lot of the time quite quickly.
Once we have enough evidence and the predator has suggested a meet we will arrange to meet the predator either at a predetermined location where we know is safe and we can control, or the predators address if suggested by them.Once on location we approach the predator and film the encounter for our safety and to gather evidence. We then make a call to the police who will come and make the arrest.
A number of detractors have labelled us “vigilantes” however they couldn’t be further from the truth. We are in fact concerned parent’s and normal citizens who have had enough of this of the risks caused by online predators and safety of our children. With the way modern day technology has advanced and has made it much easier for sex offenders to target our children destroying young lives.
We understand the lack of time,money and resources the police have so in order to do our bit for our community and society we have took it upon ourselves to step in and do what the police can’t.
From an offical legal standpoint they have to advise that we don’t carry on and they can’t be seen to support us, but so far we haven’t met a pc that has give us any trouble doing what we do. And often get a brew when we go to give our statements at the station.
No..As you can hopefully understand the way we opparate is to set up accounts and profiles online until we get approached.. the thing with helping a member of the public we don’t really know the background I.e is it just for revenge? We can defiantly help and point you in the right direction or give advice but we would more than likely advise you contact the police..
There’s a few reasons,one reason is if the predator has seen any news coverage of us and our face is all over it then the likely good of them recognising us as we approach just gives them a heads up what’s happing.
Another is we all have family’s and don’t want them brought into what we do as this is our choice not There’s for all they agree with what we do.
The main one is that it’s not about us it’s about the exposure of the predator so we want the focus to be on them. We will show who we are at a time we are ready or it comes out naturally..
We get asked this a lot and the answer is simple. We are doing this for a reason and to get a result. The last thing we want is to jeopardise the case in any way. It does take a certain type of person with the right personality to do what we do, but we are a team and support each other.
This is a hard one as we never had any intention to accept donations. However, the more we have grown, so has the demand for people wanting to donate. We decided to take donations so that people who want to donate, what they can afford, can do so. We NEVER ask and we don’t promote to try and get donations in any way.
Please be assured that any donation money will only be spent on Geordie chasers eg. fuel costs, tech costs, stationary etc.

A few reasons. It’s something I had in mind from the start as I saw a lot of teams getting their page shut down (be that by Facebook or online trolls). After all that time and effort of getting the followers up, allowing the predators videos or pictures to reach a great number of people, and therefore an amazing amount of awareness be achieved. On the back of that, all those people that are waiting for updates keep having to chase pages as they get shut and pop back up to start again. Having a website gives us that stability knowing that once people know its there it takes a lot of the hassle away, worrying where a page has gone and wondering what happened to the person arrested that they watched, as it will all be on here and updated along with the other platforms we use.
