Searches are ongoing to locate Carr, 32, who we seek to speak to in connection with the murder of a woman in Sunderland.
Shortly before 12.30pm on Saturday, officers were called to an address on Brady Street. Inside a woman in her 40s was sadly found to be deceased.
We are treating the woman’s death as murder and a full investigation has been launched.
Officers have identified Carr – who has links to Newcastle city centre, Jesmond and Sunderland – as a key individual who they urgently want to speak to in connection with their enquiries.
Carr is believed to know he is wanted and is thought to be actively evading arrest. Extensive searches are being carried out at associated addresses across the North East in a bid to locate him and ensure he is arrested as soon as possible.
We’d like to thank everyone who has already shared our appeal and assisted us with information about Carr’s whereabouts. We are determined to locate and apprehend him as soon as possible and continue to ask for the public’s support with this.
If you recognise him, or think you know where he may be, please let us know immediately.
⚠️Members of the public are asked not to approach Carr. Instead, alert police if you have seen him. ⚠️
A big thanks to the victim’s family for the incredible strength and cooperation that they have shown throughout this investigation, and specially-trained officers will continue to offer them any support they need.
