Paedophile nursery worker Vanessa George hopes to be out of jail by Christmas after making a new bid for parole, it is claimed.

The 47-year-old, who abused babies and toddlers in her care, could be back on the streets in December if her application is approved.

Parole Board bosses are to decide if she remains a danger to the public.

The mum-of-two – dubbed Britain’s worst female paedophile – was handed an indeterminate sentence, like that given to black cab rapist John Worboys, with a minimum of seven years behind bars.

George photographed herself sexually abusing pre-school children at Little Ted’s nursery in Plymouth, Devon, as part of a paedophile ring.

She sent photos of the children, who were under two, to her lover Colin Blanchard, now 48, and he forwarded them to Angela Allen, now 47.

George admitted to a total of seven sexual assaults of young children and six counts of distributing and making indecent pictures of children.

A serious case review found that the privately-run nursery “provided an ideal environment” for George to abuse due to a lack of formal staff supervision.

George, who was jailed in December 2009, became eligible for parole on December 15, 2016 and had her first application denied in May.

The Parole Board ruled that she should remain in jail for two more years.

She is being held at high-security Bronzefield jail in Ashford, Surrey.

A new application from George’s legal team has been filed.

A spokesperson for the Parole Board told Mirror Online: “We can confirm the parole review of Vanessa George has been referred to the Parole Board and is following standard processes.

“The job of the Parole Board is to determine if someone would represent a significant risk to the public after release.

“The panel will carefully look at a whole range of evidence, including details of the original evidence and any evidence of behaviour change. We do that with great care and public safety is our number one priority.”

A decision on the case is expected in mid-November, with George hoping to be released by Christmas, the Sun reported.

In January, George’s ex-husband revealed he would be thrilled if the paedophile killed herself.

Andrew George, who divorced Vanessa over her sickening crimes, said: “I would jump for joy if she hanged herself.

“The hatred for her has intensified. The loathing simply grows and grows to the point where I now feel ready to explode in a rage.

“I used to be happy go-lucky without a care in the world. But since her arrest I’ve gone downhill mentally and I can’t seem to stop plummeting into despair.”
