On Tuesday the 11th of May 2021 convicted #Jarrow paedophile Derek Blair Died of metastatic cancer aged 73 in Carlisle.
We were made aware of this case around the time of his death, however, as with everything we do, we needed to fully investigate all of the facts before we released the story.
We have now completed all of our extensive checks and verified everything with full evidence and documentation and can now share this hearbreaking story that damaged many children both emotionally and physically.
Over a 12 year period Derek raped and abused 1 male and 2 females (all children)
And after an 8 day trial in 1998 he was convicted at Newcastle Crown Court where he was sentenced to 12 years imprisonment and a lifetime on the sex offenders register.
During the trial Blair was criticised by the judge for “gazing at the ceiling and pulling a face” as he was being sentenced.
The judge told him ” You are an unrepentant and evil man. You have shown not one iota of remorse for what you have done”
The disappointing thing about this case is, Derek Blair Died with very few people knowing about his disgusting past, as back when he was convicted in 1998 there was only a small newspaper article about him in a local paper (it took us alot of digging to gather all the evidence on the trio).
After the 8 day trial that was very thorough and serving his time in prison, Derek was released and moved to #Carlisle where he slipped unknown back into society with the help of some of HIS family members where he remained on the sex offenders register for the rest of his life until his death last month.
In 1998 Derek Blair was convicted of the following:-
*Three offences of wilfully assaulting a child under 14.
*Three of indecent assault.
*rape via vaginal penetration
*rape via anal penetration.
He was sentenced to 12 years imprisonment and placed on the sex offenders register for life.

Derek’s Eldest son Sean Blair who was 19 at the time of conviction (now 43) and now living in #Sunderland, also denied all charges, however he was found guilty and convicted after trial of the following:-
*attempting to have sexual intercourse with a child (girl) under 13.
*indecent assault on a male (child)
Sean received a 3 year probation order and placed on the sex offenders register for 5 years.
The reason he received such a “light” sentence is that it is believed Sean claimed to have learning difficulties. This has never been proven.
We have been informed that Sean will admit he was on the sex offenders register but will say it was “20 years ago and it was all blew out of proportion at the time”
In a bid to down play his disgusting crimes.
He will explain once he gets to know you in a bid to gain sympath that he JUST “dry humped” (as he calls it) his victim once and was seen doing so and took to the police by the person that seen him when infact court documentation claim the sexual assault happened ALOT more frequent and it was the victim that brought it to the attention of the police so his version of events is nothing but the fabricated truth created by himself.
You don’t get charged and sentenced for nothing do you?
The abuse he made his victims suffer went on for many years and gave them a lifetime of suffering, where as he goes about his life like nothing has happened and if asked proudly admits he was convicted.
Sean currently works as a security guard at “The Stack Seaburn” for a company called Phoenix Eye.
He has been working for Phoenix Eye since 2018 when he received his SIA license as his convictions seem to have slipped past the vetting process.
Phoenix Eye have been contacted about Sean as he was working the Sunderland airshow which is full of kids.
Phoenix Eye Said “they cannot confirm if he is employed by them”(picture of email below)… Sean IS DEFINITELY employed by them…
The company also said on a phone call that it is SIA that do the background checks therefore if they have issued him a licence it’s something that would have to be taken up with SIA themselves.
Sean is now working around potentially intoxicated vulnerable women in his role at “The Stack”
Back at the time of his conviction there was other claims and serious allegations made against Sean one being he would often sexually assault other children and on one occasion raped a child while his mother watched (he was never convicted of this due to lack of evidence however we have managed to get a copy of the court documents from archive’s so have seen this for ourselves).
When Sean is not working he spends his time online playing PlayStation (we have attached a photo of his profile in the pictures below).

Derek’s wife Monica Blair (died in 2011 age 61), who would be 71 now, was convicted of child cruelty at the age of 48 which included:-
* four offences of ill-treating a child under the age of 16
Monica was sentenced to two years imprisonment.
While in prison she appeared on TV show “jailbirds” where she can be seen singing like she was a Saint.
It was in prison she met a woman who had allegedly pulled the skin off another person’s face causing the victim to have a heart attack and die. The woman who caused the death allegedly called Monica “Mam” and they kept in touch after they were released.. Monica came out proud of the time she did inside!
They were all charged and remanded on bail at the same time for the offences listed above and subsequently sentenced.
We can only imagine what the young victims were subjected to by these three abhorrent people and hope that this will bring some closure to what must have been a horrific upbringing.
