A man has appeared in court accused of flashing at boys on a Metro.
Niaz Ahmed allegedly exposed his genitals to the young males on a train in North Tyneside one day last month.
Prosecutors claim one of the youngsters used his mobile to film the suspected incident then handed the footage to police.
Ahmed was arrested and appeared before magistrates in North Tyneside on Tuesday.
The 61-year-old, of Wheatfield Grove, in Longbenton, spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address and to plead not guilty to one count of exposure.
Prosecutor, Sue Baker, said the alleged offence took place on April 15 this year and was suitable to be tried in the magistrates’ court.
She continued: “This is a matter than can be dealt with here.
“The defendant allegedly exposed his penis to a set of young males while on a Metro and one of the young males is said to have taken a video of it.
“The footage has been given to the police.
“It can be dealt with at this court but, should the defendant be convicted, he could always be sent to the crown court for sentence.”
Mark Harrison, defending, added: “I agree with my friend.”
Magistrates accepted jurisdiction and the case was set down for trial.
Ahmed was released on unconditional bail to appear back before the same court for that trial on August 12 this year.

Sex pest doctor back in the dock after hurling drunken abuse at estranged wife
A sex pest hospital doctor who was put behind bars after groping hospital staff landed himself back in the dock – after hurling drunken abuse at his estranged wife and her parents in a heated domestic row,
Niaz Ahmed was locked up for 18 months – a sentence later cut in half on appeal – last February after being convicted of two charges of indecent assault against staff at South Tyneside Hospital.
Newcastle Crown Court was told that Niaz, who was an anaesthetist at the hospital, squeezed one woman’s bottom and asked her ‘do you fancy it’ and prodded the breasts of another.
He was also made to sign the sex offenders’ register for 10 years and was later struck off the medical register after a General Medical Council tribunal earlier this year.
Niaz, of Broadlands, Cleadon, was slapped with a community order and given a four-week curfew after admitting breaching the terms of a non-molestation made to protect his wife, Shireen Ahmed, at their marital home in March.
The order had been imposed just a month earlier at Newcastle Family Court and barred him from pestering and harassing her.
But the 56-year-old launched a volley of abuse at his wife and his parents-in-law as tensions became fraught at the home he continues to share with his wife.
Glenda Beck, prosecuting, said: “The injured party has been married to Niaz Ahmed for over 30 years but their relationship has broken down in the last five to 10 years.
“She lives with Ahmed, her son and daughter and her mother and father.
“On March 9, she says he came home in a drunken state and was abusive to her mum, who is in her 70s.
“He then started calling her father names.”
In a victim statement, Mrs Ahmed said: “He had never been abusive to my parents before. I have no idea how much alcohol he had consumed.
“It is very difficult having to live with him.
“It is making our lives unbearable.”
Christopher Brown, defending, said Ahmed admitted breaching the order, but relations have improved to the extent they are able to still live under the same roof.
Mr Brown said: “The police had been called and he made an outburst towards his wife which they observed.
“He had ordered a kebab and had drank wine.
“He and his wife are looking at a legal separation.”
Ahmed was given a 12-month community order, must complete 25 days of rehabilitation activity requirements and keep to a curfew between 7pm and 7am for the next four weeks.
He was also ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £60 victim surcharge.

A dirty doctor dubbed “octopus hands” has been jailed for groping colleagues at the Tyneside hospital where he worked.

Ahmed, described in court as “always the octopus, hands all over the place”, also viewed female patients’ genital areas as they recovered from surgery and gave one shocked colleague saucy underwear.
The 55-year-old, who had been repeatedly warned about his behaviour by hospital bosses, was convicted to two indecent assaults and has now been jailed for 18 months.
Judge Simon Hickey said Ahmed had shown no remorse and rejected his claims that the indecent assaults were merely “social clumsiness,”
The judge, at Newcastle Crown Court, told him: “These women expected, and could expect, to be treated not only with respect and courtesy but as professionals in their own right.
“You were expected not to touch them in any way, particularly a sexual way.
“The evidence was overwhelming in terms of what you were doing and the boundaries you were stepping over.
“You used your authority over those two victims to commit these offences.
“This was not social clumsiness, this was a man who knew he was stepping over a clear line.”
The judge said that as well as touching the two victims, Ahmed had acted outrageously towards women at the hospital in other ways.
Judge Hickey said: “The evidence in the case revealed your inappropriate behaviour towards women in general in the hospital.
“The nurses spoke in terms of you leaving your post as an anaesthetist and viewing the private, genital, areas of women when they were unconscious.
“Others speak of you giving inappropriate underwear to one young nurse, extremely embarrassing her.
“Others speak of suggestive behaviour and comments.”
Ahmed, of Broadlands, Cleadon, South Tyneside, was convicted of two indecent assaults, which happened more than a decade ago.
As well as the prison sentence the “highly skilled” medic must also sign the sex offender register for 10 years.
Proscutor Michael Hodson told the court during the trial Ahmed had not committed “grave” sex crimes and caused no serious physical injury to his victims.
But he added: “Imagine what it was like going to work with a sex pest, always the octopus, hands all over the place, underlined by innuendo.”
The court heard during a meeting with hospital bosses in 2000 Ahmed accepted it was inappropriate to touch nurses and said any offence caused by him was entirely innocent and accidental.
During a later meeting with management he said his behaviour continued to be innocent and fit in with the “culture” of the hospital.
Ahmed had claimed he was the victim of a “witch hunt” in 2012 after he was cleared of sexually assaulting two teenage girls at a fireworks display in South Shields in 2011.
Tom Moran, defending, said Ahmed has had an offer of work out of the area and added: “He is highly regarded for his professional abilities.”
